Wonder Woman 1984 & Soul / Ep. 135
On Episode 135 of the Always the Critic Podcast, we actually review two new releases(!!): DC’s Wonder Woman 1984 and Pixar’s Soul.
Rico and Jess grab their fanny packs and head for D.C. (pun intended) as they review the second team-up of director Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot, including their likes and dislikes (but mostly likes), how interesting they found Kristen Wiig’s character, and Pedro Pascal’s facial hair (or lack thereof). Later in the show, Rico and Jess discuss Pixar’s Soul, (1:02:08) including how disappointing they found the execution of the promising premise, differing wildly from the critic’s consensus, and if this movie is a sign of a creatively bankrupt Pixar… or maybe Rico and Jess just aren’t Pixar people anymore.
